Energy Associates employs a
multi-disciplinary team approach. Team members are experienced engineers,
specialists, and advisors. The team is managed by a project manager, who
handles the day-to-day activities for the work and is directly responsible for
all aspects of the assignment. Discipline engineering managers are responsible
for the design details. Specialists provide the experienced and detailed
knowledge of specific applications and technologies need to ensure a successful
commitment. The team includes engineers who are leaders in their fields and
these technology issues.
Mr. Daniel Mahr is a licensed Professional
Engineer and dry bulk material handling specialist. Mr. Mahr has been responsible for
numerous small and large-scale projects in the USA and overseas for various
companies and industries, from: project inception, through engineering and
construction, and commissioning. He
has assisted owners in failure investigations and dispute resolutions. He has assisted attorneys, insurance
companies, system suppliers, and owners as an Expert Witness in allegations of
design problems, start-up delays, increased costs, and production shortfalls
and investigations of non-fatal and fatal accidents. Mr. Mahr is a member of ASME, NSPE, and
SME. He is a current member of
ASME’s B20 Safety Committee, a past chair of ASME's Fuels and Combustion
Technology Division, and was the chair of the Fuel Storage, Handling, and
Transportation Technical Committee for several years. He authored the handling
and storage chapter in ASME’s Material Handling Handbook and the
fuel and sorbent sections of EPRI's FBC Balance of Plant Guidelines. Mr. Mahr has edited several ASME publications
on fluidized bed combustion, and has published a number of articles on bulk material handling,
blending, and transportation in Bulk Solids Handling, Biomass Products
& Technology, Coal Age, Combustion, Mechanical Engineering, POWER, Power
Engineering, and, Skillings’ Mining Review.
Mr. Michael L. Bugg
is a licensed Professional Engineer experienced in project management,
engineering, technical sales, and marketing. He has directed electrical
design, procurement, and field construction for projects ranging from $4M to
$200M. Mr. Bugg has also served as a project engineer, estimator, and the
sales lead on selected projects. While serving in these positions, his responsibilities
included process design, equipment specification and purchase, subcontract
placement and oversight, construction supervision and start-up of various
process facilities and material handling systems.
Mr. Asok K. Datta is a licensed Professional
Engineer specializing in structural design and detailing. He is experienced in designing structures
for coal/bulk handling systems at power plants, terminals, and industrial
facilities. Mr. Datta supervises the civil/structural engineering and their
related project tasks.
Mr. Stephen J. Flood
is a licensed Professional Engineer experienced in all aspects of civil and geotechnical
engineering on major projects throughout the world. He has been the responsible
engineer and manager of numerous civil/site, geotechnical and specialty
structural engineering portions of commercial and industrial projects. He has
extensive design and construction experience in site preparation, soils
engineering, deep foundations, ground improvement and structure condition
surveys and assessments.
Mr. Dougjohn Kim is structural engineer specializing in
structural design and detailing. He is experienced in designing structures for
coal/bulk handling systems at power plants, terminals, and industrial
facilities.
