Experience

Mr. Bugg is responsible for all phases of electrical, instrumentation, and control engineering as required by the individual projects.  He coordinates electrical engineering, purchasing, and start-up with the project groups.  He has also been responsible for electrical estimates and developing the overall power distribution systems.

Mr. Bugg is a licensed professional engineer with over 35 years of experience in project management, engineering and technical sales and marketing.  He has directed electrical design, procurement, and field construction for projects ranging from $4M to $200M.  Mr. Bugg has also served as a project engineer, estimator, and the sales lead on selected projects.  While serving in these positions, his responsibilities included process design, equipment specification and purchase, subcontract placement and oversight, construction supervision and start-up of various process facilities and material handling systems.

Energy Associates

Mr. Bugg is responsible for scheduling, budget, design and specification for the electrical portion of material handling projects.  He is responsible for the electrical and I&C engineering, specified and procured electrical equipment, administered installation subcontracts and provided start-up and commissioning for various projects including the following:

*   CH2M HILL.  Samalaju Industrial Port, Sarawak, Malaysia. Electrical and I&C elements of an EPC tender documents for a complex, multi-dry bulk commodity, conveyor belt system, with four dry bulk berths, multiple ship unloaders, shiploader, stackers, reclaimers, truck loading terminal, multiple paths, and interface with Industrial Park’s distribution conveyor belt system.

*  Longview Power.  Responsible for the electrical power distribution concepts/design – (A/E responsibilities including concept development, bid drawings, specifications, technical evaluations, etc.) for three (3) fuel systems with an approximate value of $100 million for a greenfield, 700MW plant; including the plant’s coal handling system, an adjacent coal-blending yard, and a 4.5 mile overland conveyor system with a surge stacking/reclaim system.

*    AES Cayuga.  Responsible for the electrical power distribution detail design of a unique feeder/conveyor addition to the 50-year old AES Cayuga coal-fired plant.

*   Ameren Services Company, Meramec Rail Receiving.  Responsible for the electrical concept and estimate on a feasibility study for a $64 million coal handling system addition to the Meramec Plant.

*  Ameren Services Company.  Responsible for the electrical engineering investigation for additions to coal handling system to support fuel changes at the Sioux Plant.

*    Foster Wheeler USA.  Responsible for the electrical engineering for a material handling system for the City of Lakeland PFCB Project

Watkins Engineers and Constructors

Mr. Bugg was responsible for scheduling, budget, purchasing, subcontracting, design and specification for the electrical portion of projects ranging up to $200 million.  He coordinated electrical engineering and equipment with electrical installation and substation contractors and served as the primary electrical interface between the company and customer.  Mr. Bugg was responsible for the electrical and I&C engineering, specified and procured electrical equipment, administered installation subcontracts and provided start-up and commissioning for various projects including the following:

Mr. Bugg was responsible for design, procurement and construction coordination of material handling and process plant systems.  Designed, specified and purchased steam turbine and electrical distribution system for the first “culm” fired facility.  He served as the project engineer/manager for lime hydrate facility.

ASEA Brown Boveri

Mr. Bugg served in several capacities at ASEA.  As the combined cycle business development manager, Mr. Bugg participated in start-up of combined cycle group.  Marketed combined cycle plants over 80 MW.

Developed, coordinated and marketed single shaft combined cycle power trains for 80, 110, and 165 MW gas turbines.

Coordinated and marketed combined cycle systems as equipment, packages or turnkey (valued from $15 million to over $175 million).

Coordinated and trained marketing/sales for Southwest Region (six direct sales and ten marketing representatives) for gas and combined cycle turbines.

Analyzed market penetration, competitors, regional and industrial segmentation for steam turbines.  Coordinated steam turbine sales and technical support with gas turbine division for combined cycle projects.

As the Southeast Regional Manager, he was responsible for direct sales, product support and training of eight manufacturers’ representatives for steam turbines.  As the Manager, Application Engineering, Mr. Bugg was responsible for all phases of domestic marketing and sales of steam turbine and medium steam power plants.  He coordinated the technical support of application and support engineers during proposal and project management phases.  He successfully implemented Brown Boveri’s first domestic turnkey independent power project, an $85 million effort.

Westinghouse Electric Corporation

As a sales engineer, Mr. Bugg provided sales and technical assistance in the selection, application, operation and maintenance of electrical distribution and rotating equipment and services.  He coordinated sales with customer’s purchasing, electrical and mechanical engineering departments.
