Project Description

GenPower was developing a 600 MWe pulverized coal fired supercritical independent power production facility that is currently being constructed in Monongalia County, West Virginia. The project was originally to be supplied on a "turnkey" basis a turnkey Contractor who would engineer, procure, construction, and demonstrate parallel operation with Allegheny Energy Supply Company. GenPower’s engineer for this project was Careba Power, who engaged Energy Associates to assist with coal and limestone handling elements of the project.

Energy Associates prepared portions of the plant bid documents related to the coal and limestone handling systems. Below is illustrated a flow diagram for the coal handling system.
