Project Description
Foster Wheeler engaged Energy Associates to assist with services to support their proposal efforts on the Duburi Power Project in Orissa and the Ghogha Project in Gujarat, India.  Services included system definition, investigations of design alternatives, engineering calculations, bid drawings, bid specifications, and bidder contacts.

At Duburi, Energy Associates assisted with the preparation of alternate designs for the coal handling system.  Conveyor horsepower and plant parasitic loads where calculated.   Capital cost estimates were prepared utilizing an estimating system prepared by Energy Associates.

At Ghogha, Foster Wheeler proposed to construct a lignite-fired AFBC thermal power generating plant for Gujarat Power Cooperation, Ltd.  Lignite was to be mined at pits approximately three (3) kilometers from the plant site.  Energy Associates assisted with the scope of the Work, which includes the lignite and limestone facilities.  The lignite aspects of the project include equipment at the mine, the systems at the power plant, and an overland conveyor that connects the two locations.  The limestone facilities included the plant’s storage and preparation systems.  The assignment included preparation of bid design drawings and commercial/technical bid specifications.  Below is illustrated a diagram prepared for the limestone preparation system.
