Project Description

Consumers Power Company and CMS Generation considered potential alternatives for coal deliveries. CMS Generation engaged Energy Associates to provide consulting services on coal related issues for the transport of fuel to an existing power plant. A variety of alternatives were investigated. Rail, such as the Burlington Northern Sante Fe System as shown below, was considered. Potential savings were examined though industry contacts and available FERC data.
